FIXBOX-3

AHL has constructed a new shielded cell for the conditioning of the highly radioactive liquid waste (HRLW) and updating the conditioning process. The HRLW was mainly produced due to analytics of dissolved fuel pellets during PIE.

To solidify the HRLW an established process had to be updated to new specifications of the intermediate federal storage facility and of the national cooperative for the disposal of radioactive waste (nagra).

After an extensive testing phase, FIXBOX-3 is now in the final licensing phase to receive the operation license.
