Layer 3 pixel modules installed
The third layer of the Mu3e pixel detector was sucessfully installed. This is the first time that we deploy these large pixel modules.
Collaboration meeting at PSI
The Mu3e collaboration got together at PSI for two days of presentations and discussions.
Sophie Dietz defends her PhD
Sophie Dietz has successfully defended her doctoral thesis at the University of Mainz. She has developed the powering system for Mu3e, in particular a very high current DC/DC converter and integrated it into the experiment.
Installation of the scintillating tile detector
Mu3e has installed the scintllating tile detector for the 2026 beamtime, for the first time mounting a complete detector station around the beam line. The tiles can measure the arrival time of electrons and positrons with less than 100 ps resolution.
Installation of Scintillating Fibre Detector
Mu3e has installed the scintllating fibre detector for the 2026 beamtime, for the first time mounting this complete detector around the beam line. The scintillating fibres give sub-nanosecond time resolution with a minimum material budget.
Installation of Vertex Detector
Mu3e has installed the vertex detector for the 2026 beamtime, marking an important milestone in the detector assembly.
Poster Prize for Thomas Schwartze at the CFLV Conference
Thomas Schwartze has won the experimental poster price at the Charged Lepton Flavour Violation conference 2026 for his poster on the vertex fit for Mu3e using the generalized triplet track fit.
IEEE CANPS Award for Stefan Ritt
At the IEEE Real Time Conference, Stefan Ritt was presented with the prestigious CANPS-Award for his work on the MIDAS software which is powering the readout of many experiments, including Mu3e.
Mu3e Wengen Meeting 2026
The Mu3e collaboration met for four days in the alpine village of Wengen to discuss the results from the 2025 run and plan for the upcoming runs in 2026 and 2027.
