PSI Light Microscopy Facility

The Light Microscopy Facility (LMF) at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) has been initiated through the recruitment and start-up funds awarded to Prof. G.V. Shivashankar (Shiva) by ETH Zurich (ETHZ) to establish the Mechano-Genomics Group at ETHZ/PSI in 2020.

LMF is embedded within the Laboratory of Multiscale Bioimaging, one of the three laboratories of the Center for Life Sciences at PSI. The facility is operated through a steering committee (comprising of Dr. Martin Behe @ PSI, Dr. Adrian Wanner @ PSI and Prof. G.V. Shivashankar @ETHZ/PSI) and coordinated by two facility managers Dr. Philipp Berger (Science) and Ms. Antonietta Gasperina (Administration).

LMF offers state-of-the art light microscopes, slide scanner, flow cytometry and spatial imaging proteomic facilities for both academic and industry users. Link to online bookings and user-fee can be found here. A brief description of the LMF instruments are found here.
