High Energy Physics Group

CMS Phase-1 BPIX Modules

The High Energy Physics Group addresses fundamental questions concerning the structure of matter at high energies. This includes searches for yet undiscovered particles as well as precision measurements which might give hints to new physics which is not described by the standard model of particle physics.

We perform research with the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN and R&D for novel pixel detector concepts for applications at High-Luminosity LHC, future colliders, low-energy experiments at PSI or other areas. Furthermore, we actively contribute to CERN's next flagship project, the Future Circular Collider (FCC), through advanced detector development, comprehensive physics studies, and innovative computing and data science.
