PSI researchers are tracking down pathogenic aerosols in India.
Extreme nighttime pollution in New Delhi air explained
PSI researchers find the cause of high nighttime air pollution in New Delhi
Research on Covid-19
PSI is in limited operation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But right now, in this extraordinary time, the researchers want to make their contribution to society – at PSI and in cooperation with other research institutions and companies. Here we provide information on activities and projects that are starting up or being planned, for example, to examine lung tissue or to produce proteins and antibodies, or on ideas for new research on Covid-19.
Nanometres in 3D
Scientists at the Paul Scherrer Institute and ETH Zurich have created 3D images of tiny objects showing details down to 25 nanometres. In addition to the shape, the scientists determined how particular chemical elements were distributed in their sample and whether these elements were in a chemical compound or in their pure state.
Faster and smarter
PSI is pooling its expertise regarding the evaluation of research data in the new research division Scientific Computing, Theory and Data.
Solving the unsolvable
PSI and ETH Zurich have founded the Quantum Computing Hub, where top researchers work together on concepts for quantum computers.
How football-shaped molecules occur in the universe
An international research team reveals how fullerene is formed in the universe.
