The Model Lab at the PSI Laboratory for Energy Systems Analysis (LEA) is a versatile space designed to support collaboration, communication, and interactive teaching. Available to internal PSI users upon request, the room offers a flexible environment that can be adapted to a wide range of formats, from focused workshops to larger presentations and hybrid (mixed in-person and virtual) events. Its modular design and integrated technology make it particularly suited for showcasing complex content, facilitating discussion, and enabling immersive meetings.
Adaptable layouts with high-quality display systems
High-quality touch-screen display systems and adaptable layouts enable the communication of research results, models, and scenarios clearly and effectively, whether the participants are on-site or joining remotely. Thanks to mobile and flexible furniture and a temporary sliding wall, the Model Lab can be configured for group events using multiple mobile smaller screens distributed throughout the room. The air-conditioned, acoustically-optimised and well-lit space provides a comfortable working environment for up to 40 people in person and many more online.
Quick to transition between configurations
Located in the PSI Education Center, the Model Lab is equipped to host external presentations, providing a professional setting for engaging with partners, stakeholders, and visiting experts. The setup enables parallel work streams, interactive sessions, and close engagement among participants, making it ideal for workshops, co-creation sessions, or teaching activities that require active participation. This flexibility makes it easy to transition between different modes of interaction within a single event, encouraging both focused group work and collective exchange.
