Dr. Manuel Guizar-Sicairos elected as Fellow member of The Optical Society (OSA)

Dr. Manuel Guizar-Sicairos, beamline scientist at the cSAXS beamline, was elected as a 2021 Fellow Member of The Optical Society (OSA). The OSA, founded in 1916, is a leading professional association in optics and photonics, home to accomplished science, engineering, and business leaders from all over the world. Through world-renowned publications, meetings, and membership programs, OSA provides quality information and inspiring interactions that power achievements in the science of light.

Fellow membership was awarded to Manuel for seminal contributions to methods and applications of coherent lensless imaging, ptychography, x-ray nanotomography, and new modalities of x-ray microscopy.

Manuel was recently also awarded the prestigious 2019 ICO Prize by the International Commission for Optics for seminal contributions to method and algorithm development, and application of coherent lensless imaging, ptychography, x-ray nanotomography, and scanning small-angle x-ray scattering. The award ceremony will take place in the 2021 European Optical Society Annual meeting (EOSAM).
