Postdoctoral Fellow in lithographic fabrication of diffractive X-ray optics

Your tasks

  • Development of nano-fabrication processes for diffractive x-ray optical elements at PSI's new clean room laboratories
  • Testing and implementation of such devices at synchrotron and XFEL sources in close collaboration with internal and external project partners
  • Design and execution of novel experiments in the field of X-ray imaging and spectroscopy based on diffractive X-ray optics
  • Active participation in the coordination of research projects, including reporting and writing of scientific publications

Your profile

The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in physics or engineering and experience in nano-lithography (preferably electron-beam lithography), optical instrumentation and metrology, or synchrotron radiation. Knowledge of the theory and experimental aspects of ultra-short light pulses and a passion for programming and numerical simulations would be most welcome. You should enjoy working in an interdisciplinary, multinational research environment. Being an enthusiastic researcher with an interest in instrumentation and a good team player with excellent communication skills will help to play an active role in the coordination and execution of experiments this international field of research.
