Current Responsibilities

Laurent Vandepaer is a second year PhD Student at the Department of Civil engineering at the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) and a visiting scientist at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI). The primary goal of his work is the environmental assessment of various energy storage technologies - embedded in the current and future energy system of Switzerland. Laurent will further develop the link between Consequential Life Cycle Assessment (CLCA) and energy-economic models.

Education and previous activities

Laurent completed his Master’s in Environmental Science & Management in 2013 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Previously, Laurent worked for several years as economic analyst and regulatory affairs manager for a Belgian electricity supplier. Laurent also holds Master’s degrees in applied economics and international business economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL).
