Research Interest

Mainly interested in studying low-dimensional molecular on-surface architectures with focus on their magnetic properties. The investigation includes work under Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) conditions and use of various laboratory and large-scale facility based techniques. This includes sample preparation according to well established procedures such as cleaning of surfaces by argon sputtering, thin film deposition via Chemical/Physical Vapor Deposition (CVD/PVD) or Electron-Beam technique, characterization by X-ray and UV Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS/UPS), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), Scanning Tunneling Microscopy/Spectroscopy (STM/S), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) with X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism (XMCD), Near Edge X-Ray Absorption Fine Structure (NEXAFS) and Angle-Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy (ARPES)
