Research interest

Solid state physics, materials science and nanotechnology. Mainly focused on the optical and electronic properties of semiconductor tailored structures, like ultrahigh strained Germanium microbridges, created by exploiting the top-down approach of the ULSI technologies. The physical properties are investigated through the Raman and the pump/probe spectroscopy and the photoluminescence techniques, at room and cryogenic temperatures. The ultimate goal is the development of Si compatible opto-electronic applications.
