Nazanin Samadi received her B.Sc. degree in Physics from Payam-e-Noor University in Tehran, Iran, and then moved to Canada where she completed her M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. She defended her Ph.D. in Physics and Engineering Physics in October 2019 at the University of Saskatchewan.

Nazanin worked on synchrotron source diagnostics along with biomedical imaging instrumentation and application at the Biomedical Imaging and Therapy Beamline at the Canadian Light Source. Her Ph.D. project focused on developing a state-of-the-art beam position and size monitoring system for the next-generation light sources.

Since November 2019, Nazanin started working as a postdoc in the X-ray Tomography Group at the Paul Scherrer Institut where she helps develop tools for a comprehensive simulation of tomography beamline design for the future TOMCAT 2.0 upgrade. Her work also includes the continuing development of new tools for source diagnostics and advanced x-ray optics for imaging applications.
