Dr. Yong Hu is a postdoctoral fellow at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) since September 2020.

He received his PhD in 2018 from Institute of Physics (IOP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). After conducting post-doctoral research at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), he started the post-doctoral experience at the PSI. His research interests center around correlated electronic systems and other functional quantum materials. He also maintains an interest in interface engineering, such as synthesis of quantum materials by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE).

Institutional Responsibilities

Conducting Research on novel topological quantum states and correlated electronic systems with ARPES; Development, support and maintenance of specialized measurement equipment at the SIS beamline; Support of external user groups.

Scientific Research

Dr. Yong Hu's current scientific research focuses on electronic structure of:
1. Strongly correlated materials (unconventional superconductors, spin-orbit coupled Mott insulator, etc.);

2. Novel topological materials (coexistence of topology and magnetism/superconductivity, etc.).
