Neutron Imaging – From Materials Science to Industrial Applications

October 5, 2026, from 15:30 to 17:30

Neutron imaging at the SINQ neutron source offers a wide range of applications – from fundamental research in materials science and the investigation of archaeological finds and fossils millions of years old to practical industrial applications.

During the visit, you will be guided through the SINQ facility and have the opportunity to visit the neutron imaging beamline, where neutron imaging experiments are carried out.

You will also have the rare opportunity to see several natural history objects for which neutron imaging has provided unique insights into their internal structures.

The tour is open to participants aged 16 and over.
