Laurent Vandepaer is a PhD student at the Department of Civil engineering at the the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) and a visiting researcher at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI). The primary goal of his work is the environmental assessment of energy storage technologies and of future scenarios of the Swiss energy system. In his work, Laurent further develops the link between Consequential Life Cycle Assessment (CLCA) and energy-economic models.
Laurent completed his Master’s in Environmental Science & Management in 2013 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Previously, Laurent worked for several years as economic analyst and regulatory affairs manager for a Belgian electricity supplier. Laurent also holds Master’s degrees in applied economics and international business economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL).
