Checking the biggest EV myths against science

Electric cars are seen as a key component of climate-friendly transport. But just how big is their advantage over petrol and diesel cars? In the second episode of “Beat fragt”, we compare the two propulsion technologies based on the latest scientific findings. Environmental scientist Christian Bauer will help us examine the environmental impact of electric cars, their everyday usability and their long-term costs – and shed light on common myths about EV range, charging and electricity consumption.

Environmental scientist Christian Bauer calculates the environmental impact of cars, from manufacturing them, through years on the road, up to recycling them at the end of their life. © Paul Scherrer Institute PSI/Markus Fischer, Monika Bletry, Beat Henrich, Christian Bauer and Gwendolin Schönfeld
