Anna Zakharova is a PhD student at the University of Basel under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Frithjof Nolting and Dr. Cinthia Piamonteze, and she is actively working at the Swiss Light Source (SLS) of the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) as a member of the Microscopy and Magnetism Group. She received her Bachelor and Master degree in physics from the Saint-Petersburg State University. During her Master studies she specialized on solid states physics and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy.

Anna Zakharova's research interest involves the creation and investigation of new magnetic properties at the interface between complex oxides, in high quality heterostructures with x-ray magnetic circular dichroism and x-ray linear dichroism as the main techniques.
