Research Topic: Photocatalysis with visible light: application of oxynitrides thin films

Hello! My name is Eric Burns and I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A (home of the gateway arch and the Cardinals baseball team!). I did my undergraduate at North Carolina State University with a brief research stint at Zhejiang University in China. Afterwards, I did my Masters at Imperial College in London on a solar fuels project on developing proof-of-concept photocathodes and photoanodes from organic photovoltaic materials. Now I work with oxynitride materials (mainly LaTiON) with a focus on photoelectrochemical characterization with regards to solar water splitting.

I love talking about my research, so please contact me if you have any questions!

Outside of research, music is a big part of my life. Violin is my main instrument, but I also can press a few keys on the piano and strum a guitar. If anyone is down for a jam let me know! I also love to cook and am almost always down for political discussion.
