At this year’s European Conference on Research Reactors (RRFM-2026), held in conjunction with the International Radioisotope Supply Chain Meeting (IRIS) and the SMR/AMR Developers’ Meeting (SMaRRt) in Leiden, the presentations on the status of our BALDER project generated significant international interest.
Our presentations, titled “Licensing of a Novel Nuclear Test Facility for the Safe Testing of New Reactor Concepts” and “Advancing MSR Technology: The Copenhagen Atomics-PSI Molten Salt Experiment – Progress Since RRFM 2025,” were delivered to an audience of numerous experts in the field.
The numerous questions and discussions that followed from the participants demonstrate a high level of interest in the project and the potential of the innovative nuclear test facility.
The concept of the nuclear test facility, designed for the safe testing of new SMR concepts, is recognized as a means of accelerating lengthy validation processes in Europe.
