Before joining ETH-PSI quantum computing hub I received my PhD in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I first worked on Hamiltonian engineering of condensed matter problems using Bose-Einstein condensates in momentum space lattices. Afterwards, I further explored my interest in quantum simulation by developing an experiment based on neutral atoms trapped in arrays of optical tweezers to realize synthetic lattices of Rydberg states.
My interests at the quantum hub include analog and digital quantum simulation of dissipative- and topological condensed matter systems, developing a neutral atom source for trapped ion experiments as well as considering hyperparameter optimization approaches in intermediate-scale quantum computing.
