Rafael Winkler

Biography

Rafael Winkler is a PhD student working in the Laboratory for Nonlinear Optics at PSI and Prof. Steven Johnson’s ultrafast dynamics group at ETH. He studied Physics at ETH in Zürich. In 2020, he did his Master thesis in the pump group of SwissFEL at PSI.

Scientific Research

Rafael’s research is the investigation of ultrafast processes in condensed matter systems close to phase transitions. His focus lies on lattice dynamics using x-ray probe techniques.
