Endstations
TheX06SA beamline has two end stations for different applications. The user is free to choose which one to use.
Important Notes
- the changeover between the diffractometers takes between 30 and 45 minutes and it is possible to use both devices within one shift.
- the changeover is carried out during the user's allocated beamtime no matter which setup is currently online
High Resolution Diffractometer (HRD)
The high resolution diffractometer is located at 28 m from the source. The modest demagnification of2.5:1 guarantees a highly parallel beam, a prerequisite of large unit-cell protein crystallography. The diffractometer has a single phi rotation axis on a high precision air-bearing rotation axis. a hybrid pixel counting detector, Pilatus 6M enables us to perform shutterless continuous data collection and to collect images up to 12.5 Hz.
Resolutions limits
for the Pilatus 6M detector at Se K-edge- High resolution limit (Distance to the detector = 180 mm): 1.5 Å
- High resolution limit (Distance sample-detector = 1250 mm): 5.5 Å
- Unit cell limit (Distance sample-detector = 1250 mm): 2300 Å
- Low resolution limit (Distance sample-beamstop = 150 mm): 400 Å
- a vacuum tube for ultra low resolution data collection and Helium chamber ar fixed detector distance are also available
