DECTRIS Ltd wins Swiss Economic Award 2010

On the occasion of the Swiss Economic Forum, the most significant event for the Swiss business leaders with a participation of 1300 persons, the Swiss Economic Award is presented. This prize recognizes the most successful start-up companies in the categories categories high-tech/bio-tech, manufacturing/commerce and services. It is the most prestigious award in Switzerland for start-up companies which are evaluated by a high-profile jury with a huge effort. The result of this award is a huge publicity and recognition in the industry and the public. Additionally the three winners receive a check of CHF 25'000 each.
Amongst 130 approved competitors the company DECTRIS Ltd of Baden is this years winner in the category high-tech/bio-tech. DECTRIS Ltd was founded in 2006 as a spin-off enterprise of Paul Scherrer Institute by the team of Christian Brönnimann. Since it foundation DECTRIS Ltd has very well developped in the worldwide synchrotron source market and will reach a staff count of 35 highly qualified persons by the end of this year. The company has licensed the single-photon-counting technology for X-ray detectors which was developped and patented at PSI and is now developping and manufatcuring detectors in different configurations for research and laboratory applications.
We congratulate Christian Brönnimann and his team to this award, which they earned through their big efforts over the last four years.
