Current available positions
A postdoc or PhD student position is available in Biomolecular Research Laboratory of Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland. The project focuses on 3D structural analysis of eukaryotic flagella/cilia by cryo-electron microscopy/tomography, but could include method development of cryo-preparation technique. The post is available for a year with possible extension. Previous experience in cryo-electron microscopy and image processing will be an advantage but is not requirement.We are looking for a highly motivated enthusiastic candidate with good communication skills, experience as well as affinity to imaging techniques and/or computation and an interest in both biology and methodology.
Available facilities include JEOL2200FS microscope with a Tietz 416 camera in PSI as well as JEOL2010 microscope, Gatan cryo-plunger and NVision-40 FIB. Titan Krios with a Falcon camera and Tecnai F20 with a Gatan energy filter (2k CCD camera) are also available in ETH Zurich (~1hour from PSI). PC clusters for image analysis are available in PSI and ETH Zurich.
