AQMEII
Scope of project
AQMEII is an initiative for international coordination on the evaluation of regional air quality modelling. It aims at promoting research on regional air quality model evaluation across the European and North American atmospheric modelling communities, through the exchange of information on practices, the realization of inter-community activities and the identification of research priorities, keeping in focus policy needs. AQMEII is coordinated by two chairs, one for north America and the other for Europe. It is supported by the Joint Research Centre/IES, Environment Canada and US-EPA that act as regional focal points. A model evaluation exercise took place for the year 2006. Participants run their models on North American and European domains using the input data sets such as gridded emissions and boundary conditions provided by AQMEII.The first Workshop took place in Stresa, Italy in April 2009. 2nd Workshop took place in Turin in September 2010 in conjuction with NATO/ITM Conference.
