DECTRIS Ltd wins Swiss Economic Award 2010

On the occasion of the Swiss Economic Forum, the most significant event for the Swiss business leaders with a participation of 1300 persons, the Swiss Economic Award is presented. This prize recognizes the most successful start-up companies in the categories categories high-tech/bio-tech, manufacturing/commerce and services. It is the most prestigious award in Switzerland for start-up companies which are evaluated by a high-profile jury with a huge effort. The result of this award is a huge publicity and recognition in the industry and the public. Additionally the three winners receive a check of CHF 25'000 each. Amongst 130 approved competitors the company DECTRIS Ltd of Baden is this years winner in the category high-tech/bio-tech. DECTRIS Ltd was founded in 2006 as a spin-off enterprise of Paul Scherrer Institute by the team of Christian Brönnimann. Since it foundation DECTRIS Ltd has very well developped in the worldwide synchrotron source market and will reach a staff count of 35 highly qualified persons by the end of this year. The company has licensed the single-photon-counting technology for X-ray detectors which was developped and patented at PSI and is now developping and manufatcuring detectors in different configurations for research and laboratory applications.
