The infrastructure of the PSI guesthouse

The PSI guesthouse offers our international users and visitors a pleasant and comfortable stay at PSI. The guesthouse is situated on the tranquil ground at the north end of PSI’s west site. The research facilities are reachable within walking distance.

Rooms

The guesthouse offers a variety of rooms: 20 single rooms equipped with toilet and shower, 34 single rooms with wash basin (toilet and shower on the hallway), 8 double rooms with wash basin (toilet and shower on the hallway) and 3 double rooms equipped with toilet and shower. All our guest rooms are equipped with the following amenities: refrigerator, safe, radio controlled alarm clock, TV, phone for internal calls and internet access. They are functionally equipped and regularly cleaned by our cleaning team. Linen and towels are at your disposal and are changed regularly. Please find our room rates on the link rates.

Kitchen

Guests are welcome to use our common kitchen with cooking facilities, dishwashers, microwaves and toaster, electric kettle, pots and pans. Dishes are at our guest’s disposal stored in a personal dish compartment. Furthermore there are vending machines for snacks and beverages.

Lounges

On the groundfloor there’s a big lounge equipped with sofas, books and a big-screen television with satellite reception. There’s another lounge in the basement for leisure activities.

Leisure activities

Different leisure activities (Darts, tabletop soccer, board games) are at our guest’s disposal in the lounges. Depending on the weather conditions our guests may use our newly built barbecue site equipped with benches. Firewood is available.

Bike rental service

During opening hours, bikes can be rented at the User Office, the deposit is CHF 50.-

Catering at PSI

At PSI the personnel restaurant OASE and three cafeterias are at your disposal. Please take note of the opening hours.

Evening catering

From Monday to Friday dinner is served at the restaurant OASE from 5 pm to 8 pm. A light menu, salad and different specialities are offered, accompanied by a good glass of wine.

Night and weekend catering

The vending machines at Cafeteria West “Time Out” are freshly stocked every evening and offer a wide choice of warm plate menus, cold plates and snacks as well as coffee and beverages. Payment is effected cashless with the badge; a credit loading station is near by.
